The ceiling-mounted boom arm (Overhead Boom) SA-MT-BM-250 from SALZ Automation is a heavy-duty, high-bay-ready mounting solution for industrial panel PCs and monitors with load capacities of up to 250 kg. With a reach of over 2 m and a coverage area of up to 3 × 3 m, the overhead boom is ideally suited for line monitoring, process visualization and SPE monitoring in modern production environments.

The telescopic boom arm made of galvanized steel is designed for continuous industrial operation and features low-maintenance bearings with a service life of up to 50,000 hours. Despite its high load capacity, the system weighs only 12 kg, allowing for easier installation even in high-bay warehouses and high-ceiling production areas.

A 270° swivel range, ±25° tilt and 180° rotation enable ergonomic positioning of the panel PC. In combination with the integrated anti-swing system, stable and low-vibration operation is ensured even with extended boom lengths. This reduces unnecessary operator movement by up to 85% and increases both efficiency and workplace safety.

For organized cable routing, the overhead boom is equipped with an integrated cable basket with capacity for up to 10 m of cabling. Thanks to its modular length options, the SA-MT-BM-250 can be flexibly adapted to different machine layouts and hall geometries, making it ideal for scalable automation concepts.

Industrial-grade installation protocol:

1) Verify ceiling load capacity ≥ 400 kg

2) Install pivot plate using 8 × M12 anchors (60 Nm torque)

3) Assemble boom segments A–B–C

4) Extend boom to 2 m and lock in position

5) Mount universal joint with VESA 200 / 400 interface

6) Lift panel using safety straps and secure with M8 locking fasteners

7) Adjust swivel tension

8) Install 2 m cable basket

9) Perform 375 kg load test for 30 minutes

10) Verify end stop and emergency lowering function
